❓ FAQ — Ilco T80 & GTHT80 Texas 80-Bit Solution
Q: Is the T80 and GTHT80 rewritable?
A: No. Both the T80 and GTHT80 transponders can only be written once. They are one-time programmable devices.
Q: How does the pre-coding part of the Texas 80-Bit Solution work?
A: Pre-coding can be done in two ways:
-
Using the “Pre-Coding” feature in the RW4 Plus / Ilco EZ-Clone Plus menu.
-
Using the RW4 Plus / Ilco EZ-Clone Plus together with the Silca TRP Setting Program, which enables you to pre-code Texas 80-Bit transponders.
Once pre-coded, the transponders must be programmed into the vehicle with Advanced Diagnostics™ devices such as MVP Pro or T-Code Pro.
Q: Where can I find the Silca TRP Setting Program?
A: The Silca TRP Setting Program is included free with the Texas 80-Bit update.
It is located on your PC under:Silca Software > WinTransfer
Open that program, connect your cloning unit via USB, and you are ready to pre-code Texas 80-Bit transponders.
Q: Do I use the T80 transponder for pre-coding also?
A: Yes. The T80 transponder can be used for pre-coding multiple vehicle types listed in the Ilco Application Chart.
There is also a T39 transponder, required for some additional applications—these are also detailed in the application chart.
