2. Supported transponder technologies

The manufacturer lists support for duplicating compatible fixed-code and crypto keys onto TPX1, TPX2, TPX4, TPX5, TPX7 and TPX8+ transponders. These capabilities depend on the installed firmware, required software, and the specific original transponder.

These examples reflect the original manual. Later firmware and chip developments may alter available destinations.

Important transponder distinctions

• TPX1: Used for compatible Texas fixed-code 4C duplication.

• TPX2: Used for selected Texas Crypto 4D duplication. It is one-time programmable (OTP).

• TPX4: Used for selected Philips Crypto transponders; the original manual describes it as rewritable.

• TPX5: Supported in JMA's later catalogue for several Philips and Texas Crypto applications.

• TPX7: Listed in the manufacturer's current product description.

• TPX8/TPX8+: Associated with later Megamos Crypto cloning capabilities and dedicated software.

Not all encrypted chips are clonable. The manual explicitly identifies certain original transponder variants as non-duplicable.

5. Installation and operation

JMA advises maintaining approximately 80–100 cm of clearance from electromagnetic interference sources, including monitors, mobile devices, motors and other equipment.

JMA documents dedicated JMA TPX8 PRO software for duplicating supported original Megamos Crypto transponders with TPX8 technology.

This may require:

• Updated TRS-5000 EVO firmware.

• Compatible TPX8 transponders.

• JMA TPX8 PRO software.

• Additional vehicle-data collection where the procedure calls for it.

JMA directs users to its commercial department or sales network to obtain this software. It should not be described as automatically included with every legacy TRS-5000 EVO.
